2007 Lake Selmac; 9th Wedding Anniversary Camping Trip

As many of you are aware each year Jessica and I celebrate two anniversaries; one for our wedding, one for our first date.  Each of us is "responsible" for one of the anniversaries; Jess for the Wedding Anniversary in May and me for our First Date Anniversary in October.
This year for our Wedding Anniversary Jess planned a Motorcycle Camping Trip to Lake Selmac.
Lake Selmac is a 160-acre man made lake known for its variety of fishing opportunities. It is also good for swimming, horseback trails, and boating.

Our packing for a weekend getaway.  Tarp, tent, cooler, my leather travel bag, two 20* sleeping bags and a lantern. Our first stop for lunch was at the McKee covered bridge.  This picture was taken in the park located by the covered bridge.  This is the first of our "self portraits" from this trip. We set the camera timer and posed in front of it.  :-) The Lake Selmac campground check-in.

Our campsite! We actually stopped someone and asked them to take this shot.  We couldn't find a good location to set the camera for a "self portrait" (we wanted to include the Taylor's sign in the background). Dinner at Taylor's Sausage and Country Store located in Cave Junction.  Jess and I make this a stop every time we go thru this area.  If you've never eaten there, you need to make the trip! Excellent food / atmosphere / service!

A self portrait at the fire... okay, that didn't work out so well... let's try it again... Jess and I back at the campfire; almost time for S'Mores! Shh! This is the Lady's Shower! We (well, "I") snuck in to join Jess...

The view of the lake from inside our tent. Kristy Lee Cook, the American Idol contestant from Selma, was at the local Ray's signing autographs.  The line was such that it would have taken TOO long to get an Autograph (and she was only supposed to be there for an hour) so I went up front and grabbed this shot of a beautiful Oregon Girl! This "self portrait" shows us at our last stop on the trip; the Laughing Clam.  This restaurant is located in Grants Pass, I was introduced to it years ago by my buddy Richard.
