Current Obsessions

This is what is hot for me right now.  If I am out surfing the net you'll likely find me reading up on one of my favorite subjects... currently, probably one of these:

  Episode 106
HBO's Trueblood, based on the Sookie Stackhouse book series by Charlaine Harris. This is a tale of vampires living in today's world - they have come out in the open exposing themselves to all sorts of prejudice.  The main story revolves around Sookie and her love for the vampire Bill Compton.  Check it out.    ABC's Live On Mars - not an ordinary Cop Drama. The basic premise is that this guy is a cop in 2008; gets hit by a car and wakes up in 1973.  Is he in a coma? In purgatory? Alien abduction? I don't know - but it is a strange and captivating show.

"Once". I was recently flipping thru the HBO channels and came across this movie. I was moved.  It's an incredible story of two people who meet on the streets of Dublin and share time/love/music with each other.  Yet, it is not what I'd characterize as a "love story" and certainly not a "Hollywood Love Story".  Filmed by John Carney and crew, with a minimal budget and two Sony handi-cams.
The soundtrack, featuring Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, is amazing; with songs like "Falling Slowly", "Lies" and my absolute favorite; "When Your Mind's Made Up"!
Watch the video or listen to "When Your Mind's Made Up" - the lyrics are so moving (I really wish I could write like this, dig this deep...) and Glen's performance is amazing - so powerful, he is just in this zone...

In 2007 I saw this performance by Sugarland and was amazed at the emotion that Jennifer Nettles put into the performance.  She also wrote the song; very impressive.  In 2008 Sugarland won best country duo and Song of the Year for this song ("Stay").
Watch it and let me know what you think.

This is the HOT new Saturn Sky.  260 HP, Turbo Charged, Rear Wheel Drive Roadster!   My phone, the MOTO Q Global.  Faster internet, massive storage (via memory card) and qwerty keyboard... now it is a lot easier for me to text :-)

Harley Davidson Fat Bob.  I believe this will be my next bike purchase. How hot would "my" Fat Bob look with these wheels? check out the brake rotors, pulleys, etc at: Xtreme Machine USA Click the picture above for Specs on the Fat Bob (this will open a PDF)
